state the four types of anaemia
Anemia is a pathological condition involving reduced number of
RBC in blood or decreased haemoglobin content of RBC.
The anemia can be divided into three basic types based on the
morphology pf RBC :
1. normocytic normochromic : the size and haemoglobin content of rbc are normal. Eg : hemolytic anemia
2. Macrocytic hypochromic : the size of rbc increases but the haemoglobin content decreases
3. macrocytic normochromic : increased RBC size with low hemoglobin content. Eg : folate deficiency anemia
4. microcytic hypochromic : reduced RBC size and low haemoglobin content. Eg : iron deficiency anemia
