  1. Calculate and interpret the cumulative incidence (risk) of UTI among those who consume > 3 glasses of pomegranate juice per day. Round your answer to the hundredths place.
  2. Calculate and interpret the cumulative incidence (risk) of UTI among those who consume < 3 glasses of pomegranate juice per day. Round your answer to the hundredths place.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A. Incidence of UTI in those who consume more than 3 glasses of pomegranate juice= no.of people taking more than 3 glasses juice/ Total no.of people*100= 900/2460*100= 36.58

B. Incidence of UTI in those who consume less than 3 glasses of pomegranate juice= no. Of people taking less than 3 glasses juice/ Total no of people*100= 900/1540*100= 58.44

C. Relative risk= Incidence in exposed/Incidence in non exposed= 58.44/36.58= 1.5975= 1.60

It means people who have less than 3 glasses juice per day have 1.6 times more risk of UTI than those who have more than 3 glasses juice per day.
