An electronic health record (EHR) is a digital recording of patient medical history recorded by care provider needed to meet requirements to provide quality care whenever needed. There are many advantages and disadvantages in the usage of EHR.

Disadvantages: 1) The doctors comments regarding the patients disease condition will be accessed along with the records can create a negative impact on patients. Sometimes doctors may have entered negative factors or comments or medical terminologies may mislead the patient.

                       2) The cyber security can be another disadvantage of EHR. The data breaching done by opening patient portal has become common these days. Sometimes the datas can be misused or hacked if password is familiar or accessible to everyone.
