described the appropriate action/response of the personal support worker when you notice that your client skip to take the antibiotics and tells you that she feels good today and doesn't need it

Answer #2

The problem here is the patient is refusing to take antibiotics even after being prescribed and refuses to complete the whole course of antibiotics after being free of symptoms.

But the senario is by doing this the patient is contributing towards antibiotic resistance . Antibiotic resistance is a serious problem where the bacterias are no longer sensitive to a particular antibiotic due to certain changes or mutations.

So as the patient decides to stop antibiotic therapy as there is no symptom, there is a high chance that the drug won't work the next time as the bacterias would have become resistant.

The right action would be to make the patient understand about the situation and ask the patient to take all the prescribed tablets in a day and complete the whole course of the therapy. FailIng to do this will result in a more serious condition that would be a challenge to cure.
