The Self-Care theory is an example of a grand nursing theory which centers on the patients performing activities/care independently. However, the Self-Care deficit theory is the opposite in which a patient cannot care for them. The nurse must support, teach and guide the patients to meet their needs. This theory demonstrates evidence of utilization social theories as;

·Age related health communication

·Emphasizing and coordinating personal and group relation interactions

·Recognizing all modes of therapeutic relationship to encourage functioning in health and disease
