An intervention strategy to address and curb the prevalence of obesity and diabetes in our community includes generating awareness in the community by the use of media and campaigns in the community regarding a change in the lifestyle.

Promoting low carbohydrate diet. Diet rich in fibre and low in glycemic index.

Promoting physical activity such as; walking and exercising.

Promoting screening for diabetes so that the pre-diabetic community can be identified and the disease onset controlled or delayed.
