Answer #1

The American Nurses' Association (ANA) has proposed that the baccalaureate degree should be the entry-level degree for future professional nurses as this will change the change the education of nurses from an apprenticeship to a science-based practice. The perceived the barriers to this include; two-year nursing degree programs that have stalled the requirement for a baccalaureate degree. Nurses’ lack of the ability to see themselves as more than just caregivers act as a continuing stumbling block. Opening new colleges that offer a baccalaureate degree in nursing and bringing about a change in the mindset of the nurses by having their orientation classes and through the use of the media is another way of changing the system.
