Pain may be described as a feeling of hurt or strong discomfort and is the body's way of sending a message to the brain that an injury has occured.

Pain management includes pharmacological and non- pharmacological management.pharmacological includes analgesics or pain killers like diclofenac,acetaminophen etc.Anesthetic agents also can use.

Non - pharmacological measures includes

  • Massage
  • Heat or cold application
  • Distraction ( music,video games,stories ,puzzles )
  • Relaxation ( breathing exercises)
  • Rest
  • Changing positions
  • Use of comfort devices like pillow
  • Imagination (drawing pictures, creating stories)
  • Play therapy
