Discuss the following scenario:
Tessa is the room leader of the toddler room and Paulette is assisting her. They also have a visitor today, a young student from a local college who is there on work experience. The group of children consists of 8 toddlers, all under 2 years of age. At one stage, Paulette needs to leave the room to get some cloths from the kitchen. As she is about to leave, Tessa’s phone rings. Due to a bad connection, Tessa cannot hear the parent clearly and steps over to the window to try to get better reception. She is facing outwards, away from the children. Although the young student is present and can see all of the children, Paulette decides to wait and supervise the children until Tessa has finished her phone call. She sees one of the children about to bite another one, and is able to intervene.

Ans) Paulette takes good decision that she doesn't leave the children's alone or give the responsibility to student.

- Tessa and Paulette both are key role in taking care of toddlers.

- Intervention to prevent biting of one child can be prevented by:

Step 1: Be calm and firm. Address your child with a firm "no biting!" or "biting hurts!" Keep it simple and easy for a toddler to understand.
Step 2: Comfort the victim.
Step 3: Comfort the biter, if need be.
Step 4: Offer alternatives.
Step 5: Redirect.
