One of the staff assigned to work with you becomes ill and must go home suddenly, leaving his designated patient assignment to be assumed by someone else. Nurses plays an important role in patient care when the nurse themselves fall sick on-duty .It is the responsibility of the charge nurse should divide and assign the patient to the co workers to look after the patient.

She should also take take general over when the handover is given by the nurse to the co-workers to perform duty smoothly.

If a co worker identifies the other nurse is sick it is best to help her and also to inform the charge nurse

Generally the behaviour of a nurse at is being very caring to the sick individual though they accept extra patients in between duty it is an increase in workload and some may feel how they are going to handle if emergency happens.

If they refused to take the assigned patient it would complicate the situation but they hardly do it.
