Evidence-Based Practice is defined as “Integrating best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences and values for delivery of optimal health care”

Two Nursing Interventions-

1.The nurse driven foley catheter removal protocol. (Quality Improvement)

The research has shown that when nurses are given permission to remove foley catheters, without a physician order, provided that the patient no longer meets the criteria for the foley and the nurse removes it,the number of healthcare associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) drops significantly.

2. Nurses competent in patient-centered care would document patient pain and formulate pain management plans accordingly Hence Causes, Better Health of Patients Overall and Causes Decrease in intensity of the pain.
