Death of Ivan Ilyich is a story about a middle-aged, petty personality, a government official who became too sick with an untreatable illness and dies slowly with pain due to loneliness. he is a middle-class lifestyle character, he had depression and psychological crisis. there were many barriers between him and the world.
Ivan's life did not have true freedom and individuality. instead of following moral life he had beliefs from aristocrats. he lives without care when he suffers from pancreas cancer, he ran a life simple in a wrong way. he believed only in social superiors, he lost his true freedom due to true individuality. during his end life, he did not sustain by suffering and death, because he is simple, most ordinary and that made his life so terrible. his more social value left him untreated with his illness. his honest effort made his life unhappy, he could not achieve his happiness and inner peace.
