the charge nurse on the unit has posted the vacation schedule for the month of December, as a recent graduate, have requested to be off during the week of Christmas holidays. You notice on the schedule that none of the recent graduates has received the Christmas holidays off. You feel that this is unfair, because you will not have an opportunity to be with your family during the Christmas holidays. How can you resolve this conflict?

A- None of recent graduates​ has received the Christmas holidays off but you have requested to be off during Christmas . Doesn't it seems unfair?

B- I don't think it's unfair because I am working every holidays so this Christmas I want to be with my family.

A- But due to increased flow of patients none of the graduates has received the holiday and all staff is working all days and also on holidays so why you need holiday?

B- That's true but I need some break from work.

A- Everyone is working every day and every holiday and you don't go into nursing thinking you'll have holiday off . I and other graduates also won't be able to be with family this Christmas. So I don't think it's fair to take holiday, your idea of holiday is not good.

B- I think you are right every nurse is equal here and I should drop the idea of holiday.

A- That's good. Thank you.
