To calculate flow rate we need drop factor , total volume and total time to infuse

Flow rate ( gtt/min) = total volume × drop factor/ total time in minutes

Given : total volume to be infused is 250ml

Total time to infuse = 90 min

Drop factor ( gtt/ml) = 15gtt/ml

Thus, flow rate will be equal to =

250×15/90 = 41.6 gtt/min

Round off to nearest tenth will be 42gtt/min ( as drops can't be in decimal)

So the flow rate gtt/min will be 42
