Explain how you would prepare the following solution using liquid stock hydrogen peroxide as the solute and saline as the solvent.

240 mL of strength for skeletal pin care

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. Given : need 240ml of strength .

Let's take 30 % hydroperoxide is in our stock ,it means. 30ml of hydrogen peroxide in 100ml water or NS .

So if 30 ml of hydrogen peroxide = 100ml of NS

240ml = X ml of hydrogen peroxide

X =( 240 ml ÷100 ml ) ×30 ml = 24×3= 72ml

X= 72 ml hydrogen peroxide

So add 168 of NORMAL SALINE to 72ml of hydrogen peroxide to make 240ml of 30 % solution of hydrogen peroxide for skeletal pin care.
