ANSWER - Jacques Miller

Jacques Miller discovered the 2 distinct classes of lymphocytes, B and T cells.

The T and B cells are white blood cells, , the B cells also known as B lymphocytes mature in the bone marrow while T cells also known as T lymphocytes travel to the thymus and mature there.

Jacques Francis Albert Pierre Miller is the French research scientist discovered the two major subsets of lymphocytes and their function in the year 1966

Besides the existence of tumor-specific T cells and B cells, many studies have demonstrated that high numbers of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes are associated with good clinical outcome. In addition, not only the density but also the organization of tumor-infiltrating immune cells has been shown to determine cancer patient survival. Indeed, more and more studies describe the development within the tumor microenvironment of this anatomic micro-structure, whose presence has a positive impact on tumor prognosis. What is it?

Imagine that James (who is right-handed) and Kate (who is left-handed) have two children: Nate (left-handed) and Nora (right-handed). We know that right-handedness is dominant over left-handedness, and that this gene follows Mendellian laws. Determine the genotype for each of the four family members, and then explain how you know.

Some insect eyes have two types of cells that are sensitive to the plane of polarization of light. In a simple model, one cell type (type H) is sensitive to horizontally polarized light only, and the other cell type (type V) is sensitive to vertically polarized light only. To study the responses of these cells, researchers fix the insect in a normal, upright position so that one eye is illuminated by a light source. Then several experiments are carried out....

There are two distinct sectors: taxidermists (X) and tap dancers (T). It is surprising that there is complete labor mobility between the two sectors. There are 200 equally talented workers who supply their labor inelastically. The demand for taxidermists is EX = 190 – 10 wX, and the demand for tap dancers is ET = 160 – 5 wT. a) What is the competitive equilibrium outcome (equilibrium wage and employment level in each sector) in this labor market? b) What...

Type B projects yield a gross rate of return of $250 with probability .4, but fail, yielding zero, with probability .6. Potential lenders require a gross return of $102 on $100...
