Alimentary canal extends from the mouth to the anus.
it is a muscular tube

it consists of mouth, pharynx, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and anus.

The food is first chewed in the mouth, saliva and other enzymes help in breaking it down. then it's swollowed it goes into the pharynx which is connected to the oesophagus, oesophagus is a small flap that allows food to enter the food pipe, and then the food enters the stomach, digestion takes place all nutritions and vitamins are absorbed. Then it moves to small intestine and large intestine where all nutrients, minerals and water is absorbed, and the waste is defecated by the anus.
