Respond to these questions about:
Answer 1.Oxygen treatment is usually not necessary unless the
SpO2 is less than 92%. That is, donot give oxygen if the SpO2 is ≥
92%. Oxygen therapy (concentration and flow) may be varied in most
circumstances without specific medical orders, but medical orders
override these standing orders.
For most patients, a target of 94-98% is appropriate. For those at
risk of carbon dioxide retention (hypercapnia), a target of 88-92%
ensures safe levels of oxygenation and minimises risk of
respiratory acidosis. If oxygen levels falls below , oxygen
administration should be started.
Answer 2. After starting oxygen administration ,via appropriate method and rate (Like Nasak cannula, face mask, venturi mask, high flow mask etc.) according to oxygen saturation, closely monitoring neede of oxygen saturation. If client not maintaining and having signs of hypoxia oxygen flow should be increase.
Answer 3The most common conditions for which PAP ventilation is used in hospital are congestive cardiac failure and acute exacerbation of obstructive airway disease, most notably exacerbations of COPD and asthma.
