Why is the leg kept flexed at 30 degrees?

Why is the leg kept flexed at 30 degrees?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The flexion active normal range for knee is from 0 degree extension to 140 degree flexion for active range of motion. People with flexion deformity or in case of knee injuries the active motion range is reduced. So for such clients or patients the motion range is kept flexed at 30 degree for quadriceps and hamstring co-contraction in a closed chair position to maintain stability at 30 degree mark. The 30 degree flex also helps with the avoiding knee knocking, vulgus landing incidences and also provides additional stability with soft landing.

In ice-cream making, the ingredients are kept below 0.0 degrees C in an ice-salt bath. (a) Assuming that NaCl dissolves completely and forms an ideal solution, what mass of it is needed to lower the melting point of 5.5 kg of ice to - 5.0 degrees C? (b) Given the same assumptions as in part (a), what mass of CaCl2 is needed?

The t-chart only has certain values for degrees of freedom (n=1-30, 40,50,…,120, ∞). If the degrees of freedom you are looking for does not appear on the chart, go to the LOWER value on the chart. For example, if you have 47 degrees of freedom, use the corresponding t-values for 40 degrees of freedom. This is considered a “conservative solution.” Why do you think you would use the LOWER degrees of freedom and not the HIGHER value?

A two-lane minor road intersects a two-lane major road at 90 degrees, forming a four-leg intersection with traffic on the minor road controlled by a yield sign. A building is located 40 ft from the minor road. If the speed limit were 45 mi/h on the major road 25 mi/h on the minor road, determine the minimum distance that the building can be located from the centerline of the outside lane of the major street.
