The drugs when misused can lead to adverse effects in the individual who takes. Methamphetamine is one such drug categorized under recreational drug .It stimulates the central nervous system after consumption .This drug is illegal to consume exceptional if prescribed by a provider for treating certain medical conditions . Meth -induced psychosis is an adverse effect of this drug. Of prolonged it can lead to addiction .

The treatment for meth -induced psychosis are as following

  • Medical management : The patient's has to be administered antipsychotic drugs (Risperidone , Olanzapine)
  • Procedure :Electroconvulsive therapy in case of severe aggressiveness
  • Other :Cognitive behavior therapy .
  • Abstinence from using the drug again
