Whole body vibration traing -

It consists of standing or exercising on the vibrating platform for single or multiple session. The vibrations are transmitted through lower body from the point of contact that is the feet of the patient and the vibration Street reflex muscle contraction which are thought to be reason for strength improvement.

advantages are -

1. It is safe and no case of fault has been reported yet.

2. it reduces lower back pain

3. It reduce the strain on joints ligaments and tendons.

4. Increase blood circulation and lymph drainage.

5. Speed recovery from surgery or trauma

6. Help in prevention of osteoporosis

7. Increases human growth hormone secretion in our body

8. Reduces stress and Arthritic pain.

9. It increases oxygenated blood supply to skeletal tissues and dermal tissues.

10. Accelerate weight loss by localised fat burning. Prevent varicose vein.

11.Increases muscle white fibre and physical strength full stop increases range of motion especially in postoperative patients.

12. Improve balance and coordination of elderly people.

13. Relieves postmenopausal symptoms for example stress and mood swings.

Disadvantages -

1. it requires training and a supervision elderly people.

2. It is not recommended for patients with previous cardiovascular conditions or surgery for example patient with pacemaker in place.

3. It s not recommended for patients with severe diabetes ( major commonly found in elderly people)

4. As this is a new therapy , research has not been performed on a large sample of elderly people yet.
