Repetitive stress injuries are often associated with prolonged and continuous use of any movable part of the body. The general symptoms include decrease in range of motion of any joint, tenderness and pain in the muscle or joint, loss of sensation and strength , a tingling or numbness in the hand etc. The symptoms can also vary according to the part affected, for example repetitive use of overhead activities like playing basketball can cause supraspinatus tenditis which restricts movements like abduction of the forearm.
