- Acute diseases usually do not have greater side effects while chronic diseases have long lasting effects on health.

- Prognosis of acute diseases is accurate while chronic disease have an uncertain prognosis.

- Common cold, typhoid, malaria are acute diseases. Hypertension, diabetes, hyperthyroidism are some of the chronic diseases.
