Although safety incentives may be well-intentioned, do you feel they really achieve the intended outcome, which is injury reduction? Please justify your response. In addition, what do you see as Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHAs) view regarding the use of incentive programs?
No, safey incentives programmes do not achieve the intended outcome which is injury reduction . reason : looking at it from work place view, the number of accidents that occur at work place can result to under- reported injuries especially when the reward is meant for a team, co-workers in the team relunctanly report injuries because no one want to be blame for an entire team losing a cash bonus. B) OSHA view regarding the use of incentives is that , OSHA does not forbid safely incentives program but rather advise to apply a program rewarding workers for reporting unsafe condition.
