Amniocentesis is the process of removal of amniotic fluid from the uterus of a pregnant woman for the treatment.
During the process a transducer probably ultrasound is used to find the position of a baby in a mother's uterus and it will be shown on a monitor. A part of amniotic fluid that have cells and chemicals that is produced by the baby is then withdrawn for testing.
Following are the risks -
a - It can cause miscarriage
b - There is a chance of getting some kind of injury to a mother or her baby.
c - There is some risks of the infection.
