The most likely explanation for this lack of colonization is that our stomach lining has got this unique capability to secretes hydrochloric acid to a significant level that is responsible for making the protein-digesting enzymes to work and at the same time the strong acid kills most of the harmful bacteria that accidentally got into our stomach before they reach the intestines.
