Homework Answers

Answer #1

6.Given

Order :Renacal

Volume :365ml

Strength :3/4

Frequency :4 times a day

Total volume /x =Strength

365/x=3/4

Cross multiply and divide

365*4=x*3

1460=3x

x=1460/3

x=486.6

Ans:486.6ml of Renacal has to be added

7.First should calculate the intake

IV NSS=80ml/hr, therefore for 8hr shift multiply 80by 8=640ml

Breakfast :120ml(Broth), 250ml (Tea)

Dinner :350ml

Total intake =640+120+250+350

=1360ml

Output :500ml

If for 8hr shift the volume transfused is 640ml then for 24hr multiply 24 by 80=1920ml/24hr or a day

Now to calculate the fluid balance subtract 1920 by 640

=1920-640

=1280ml

The balance at the end of shift will be 1280ml
