Case Study:

A 50-year old male, who is in a hospital rehab due to escalation of his bipolar behaviors. Upon entering the milieu, he is playing air guitar, but no music is playing in the room. He sees the nurse, and runs over to her and says, “I’m jamming with Mick Jagger.” He starts strumming his fingers in the air again on his imaginary guitar. You also notice that he has a plate of untouched food that is old and he has not eaten.

1) How would you communicate with him?

2) How would you get him to take some nourishment?

1)I will start my conversation by saying that,He plays guitar so well and I will ask for another song and I will pretend like I am enjoying the music that he is playing.

2)After sometime after he feels comfortable with me I will ask him to take his food by saying that if eats food and takes his medicine he will play music with extraordinary tallent.
