Core functions of epidemiology:-There are 5 of them. They are- public health surveillance, field investigation, analytic studies, evaluation and linkages.

The core function I have chosen is public health surveillance. It can be demonstrated by visiting a community or a place and collection of the health status of the selected population, followed by analysis and dissemination of the health related data. This can be used later on to monitor and improve the health of the population.
