From the question we can see that a nurse has seen an increase in the number of UTI's in rehabitation family and had decided to try a new type of peri care wipes to see if they decrease the incidence of cystitis.

The independent variables in this study is new type of peri- care wipes.

The dependent variables in this study is incidence of urinary tract infections or cystitis.

Extraneous variables in this study are if the patient have previous health history of UTI's, if the patient is using a foley's ( it is a catheter which is used to drain urine), if the patient is refusing yo get care, low hospital staff, patient lack of mobility, usage of briefs or non breathable clothing.

To ensure randomization the nurse should use computer and give numbers to the patients and half of the group goes to experimental group and other half goes to control groups. On the present day the people should use new wipes and tomorrow the newly admitted people can use previous normal wipes.
