Answer #1

Sex therapy is a type of psychotherapy that addresses mental health issues and/ or emotional concerns affecting a person’s sexual function, drive, and/or desire for intimacy.

You treat the condition by talking through your experiences, worries, and feelings. The goal of sex therapy is to help people move past physical and emotional challenges to have a satisfying relationship and pleasurable sex life.

A certified sex therapist can be a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker. These mental health experts undergo extensive additional training in human sexuality in order to be accredited as a certified sex therapist.

Sex therapy can be used to address:

A lack of sexual desire

Intimacy after infidelity

A couple’s disparity in sex drives

Intimacy after having children

Painful intercourse

A paraphilia, or desire that cause a person distress

Sex addictions and/or compulsive behavior

Difficulties achieving orgasm.

If your therapist suspects the dysfunction you’re experiencing is the result of a physical sexual concern, they may refer you to a medical doctor.

Through sex therapy, you can learn to express your concerns clearly, better understand your own sexual needs and better understand your partner's sexual needs.

Sex Education and Teenage Pregnancy Santrock (2016) mentions in his text that the United States has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates of industrialized nations, despite the fact that adolescent sexual activity is no higher in the United States. Why is that? For starters, sex during adolescence is considered a "taboo" subject in our culture. Abstinence is also promoted and touted as the most safest, surefire way to avoid the consequences of early sexual activity. Additionally, we teach teens...

One way to think about urine formation and renal function is to use the analogy of a dirty garage: Imagine you are cleaning your garage, but the big door is stuck. You can only move things through the smaller “people” door, meaning that the cars and riding lawn mower have to stay in the garage. This situation is analogous to the pores in the glomerulus. They are larger than ordinary capillary pores, but still not large enough to let everything...

Knowling goes on to say about fear that once people know change is coming, 'you can cut it with a knife'. He implies this is normal as well, which I too agree. He then says that his way of 'dealing with it' is to tell people that they need to deal with the fear and not let it immobilize them into doing nothing. Again I agree with this statement, but I am not fully supportive of the notion that you...
