Cultural competence means the ability to understand, respect, communicate, interact properly with the people with different cultures.

Maintaining of the cultural competence is very important for providing care to the patient. Many patients are coming for treatment from different part of the world or country. Each patient have different culture, believes. If the health care members follow the cultural competency while care those patient, it will helps to provide adequate care, understand the other culture and prevent from discrimination against different culture while providing care to the patient. This will provide a sense of belongingness and unity.

If any AP is perform any cultural insensitivity for the client then as a nurse, it is necessary to educate the AP about the cultural competency and all individual are equal, need to respect each culture because each culture is unique. Enssure the AP to understand that talking against other culture is a kind of discrimination.

The issue should be inform to the charge nurse because this may create a big discrimination or war between different cultures. This may also create an environment of unhealthy environment, not respecting other culture and difficulty in providing adequate care to the patient.
