It is the duration of time needed to take multiple measurements of the cross sections and reconstruct the image .

It is commonly used in radiology. It differs  from one imaging technique to other such as PET, CT, MRI

TR=Time for repetition

Factors affectintemporal resolution

1. Depth of penetration-Decreased penetration improves temporal resolution as it has to travel for short distances

2. Number of focal points- Less number of focal lines improves temporal resolution as scan lines do not have to be duplicated
