1.Prevent illness and injury

It is one of the most important aspect of care plan to prevent old aged person in home to prevent him from suffering of illness and injury. It involves infection control, proper medication , prevent accidents by falling at home. It deal with summarizing the condition of person at use particular steps to prevent it and also monitoring of steps is required. If some steps are not effective they should be modified or replaced with other steps. For example if a person is having diabites his dietary sugar intake should be monitored and some exercise should be made to be done so to prevent further exxagration of disease.

2 - Making them optimistic for their future

As in old age years person is so often depressed and mentally stressed due to many reasons like illness, family problem, death of close ones, condition of home and stress related to their future condition that might arise. So to cure patient from this depression and stress is very important to prevent ill effect of depression . So person should be tried to engaged in little fun activities , talking sessions to avoid loneliness, normal interaction about things also make their mind free. And if condition of depression is serious proper psychiatric counseling should be done by a psychiatrist.

3 . Maintain patient activeness

Preventing illness and injury are not only the thing to care. As in old age person become inactive , lethargic and unable to work. This might lead to non functioning of body and loss of potential and strength to do work. So patient should be encouraged to do his daily activities which he is able to do without assistance. This allows the person to be independent of assistance for long time and thus he stays active. Physical therapy can be done to maintain muscle strenght.

Not only physical activity but mind activity are also important for person . As in old age cognitive skills decline the person should be involved in little mind games and activities to make maintain congnitive skills of patient. Such mind games also make person diverted from stress and depression.
