X ml = 250 mg (2)

Cross multiply equation 1 & 2

That is

X × 100 = 250 × 5

X = 250×5 / 100

X= 25×5 / 10

X= 12.5 ml

Therefore 12.5 ml should be given to the patient.

Dosage available = 0.05 mg

Convert 0.05 mg to mcg

1 mg = 1000 mcg

Then 0.05 mg gives

0.05 ×1000 = 50 mcg
