Ibuprofen is a drug belonging to non steroidal anti inflammatory drug.The pharmacological action of it is when the drug is taken orally it is metabolised mostlely in the liver.As it reaches the blood it stops the action of COX1 and COX 2 .Thus this prevents the release of prostaglandin and thromboxane A2.Thus decrease the sensitivity to pain , inflammation and blood clot formation respectively.It acts on the hypothalamus and reduces the body temperature. The peak level is achieved in about 1 to 2 hours with a half life of one hour eight minutes to two hours.Nearly 80-100% of drug is bioavailable. This is excreted through renal system.
