order nitroglycerin 50mg in 250ml normal saline, infuse at 10mcg/min. calculate the rate in ml/hr. round answer to whole number

Homework Answers

Answer #1

order nitroglycerin = 50mg in 250ml

Infuse rate given. = 10mcg/min

Infuse rate Hourly. = (10mcg/min) * 60

= 600mcg/60min

= 600mcg/hr

1 mg = 1000 mcg

There for, 600mcg = 0.6mg/ hr

Total order. = 50gm in 250ml

= 1gm in 5ml

= 0.1gm in 0.5ml

Infusion rate in mg/hr. (We found that in first part) = 0.6mg/hr

We know, 0.1gm in 0.5ml

There for,

Infusion rate at ml/hr = (0.1 in 0.5ml) * 0.6mg/hr

= 0.6mg in 0.3ml

INFUSION RATE = 0.3ml / hr

Answer : 0.3 ml / hr

(I hope this answer is useful to you if so please give me a thumbs-up so that I can understand my answer is helpfull to you, thank you)
