Scenario 3
Maitha, a new graduate, has been secured an interview for a staff nurse position in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Most new RNs are not granted interviews until they have has at least a year of experience. The nurse manager has seen Maitha work during the last year as a nurse’s aide, however, and believes that she has a great potential as an RN.
Just because Maitha is already an employee does not automatically guarantee her a position, especially since she is interviewing for a different role. Maitha should come prepared to the interview with questions of her own. By having her own set of question, she is showing the manager that she is organized and has carefully thought about the role for which she is interviewing.
