Answer #1

Start with the projected revenue from the sales budget. Subtract the cost of producing revenue from the cost budget. This sum equals the gross profit. Next, subtract fixed costs.

10 Things to Consider While Preparing the Annual Budget-

  • Consult all the Departments
  • Estimate Revenues
  • The Gross Margin Profits
  • Have a Cash Flow Plan
  • Consider Industry Trends
  • Prepare for Seasonal Change
  • Creating the Contingency Plan
  • Know How You will Spend.

Intramural Research Program-

The Intramural Research Program (IRP) supports research using the latest clinical and genomic technologies to gain a better understanding of the underlying biological mechanisms of a range of symptoms, their effect on patients, and how patients respond to interventions. Recent scientific efforts include applying genomic approaches to the study of clinical pain and fatigue. For example, one study examines biological factors that may play a role in inflammatory pain, which could eventually provide new targets for drug treatments. Another recent study developed a device to capture electronically patient reports of pain in order to improve pain assessment and management. The IRP also supports several research training opportunities through programs such as the NINR Summer Genetics Institute, a one-month program designed to increase the research capability in genetics among graduate students and faculty in nursing, and to develop and expand the basis for clinical practice in genetics among clinicians. NINR participates in the NIH Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP), in which doctoral students from schools of nursing with established NINR-supported training programs can complete their dissertation research within the IRP. NINR also sponsors the Methodologies Boot Camp, which is a one-week intensive research training course at the NIH that focuses in depth on a timely topic of relevance to health, healthcare, and nursing science, such as pain research methodologies. The Methodologies Boot Camp is aimed at increasing the research capabilities of graduate students and faculty through distinguished guest speakers, classroom discussions, and laboratory training.

Budget Policy:

The FY 2013 President’s Budget request for this program is $6.720 million, a decrease of $27 thousand or 0.40 percent below FY 2012 Enacted level. In FY 2013, this program will build on the recent accomplishments of the IRP and continue to support innovative research to address the scientific challenges of understanding and managing adverse symptoms such as acute and chronic pain. This program will also continue to support important training and career development opportunities for innovative investigators.

Explain why items are essential in relation to the aims and methodology of the project as well as meeting the goals of the project. Explain the line items. Do not merely restate the proposed expenditure. Provide detail sufficient to justify the rationale for acquiring the item under the proposed project.

8 Steps to Creating a Project Timeline-

  1. Write a project scope statement.
  2. Create a work breakdown structure (WBS)
  3. Break each work package into tasks.
  4. Determine project dependencies.
  5. Determine total time needed for each task.
  6. Identify resource availability.
  7. Identify important milestones.
  8. Build your project management timeline.

Activities are a way of visualizing the high level tasks needed to reach your goals. Milestones are important target dates such as delivery dates. Both are added to the Gantt time plan in the Plan tool to give everyone a great overview of the work to be done.

Implementation tactics also vary based on the specific organization and goals. A strategic implementation plan (SIP) is the document that you use to define your implementation strategy. Typically, it outlines the resources, assumptions, short- and long-term outcomes, roles and responsibilities, and budget.

6-Step Guide to Strategy Implementation-

  1. Define your strategy framework.
  2. Build your plan.
  3. Define KPIs.
  4. Establish your strategy rhythm.
  5. Implement strategy reporting.
  6. Link performance to strategy.
