The nurse should know that patient having hypertension, and stroke. in case of stroke, blood pressure should be maintained near the 150 /100 mmHg to reach the blood to all parts of the brain and it is difficult to maintain because increased intracranial pressure will increase the blood pressure very high.
Prescribed medicine ( HCTZ 25 mg (diuretic)daily, atenolol 25 mg(beta-blocker) orally daily, Verapamil 180 mg (calcium Channel blocker)CD daily these amare work as an antihypertensive medicine .
If the patient will take these are all medicine will cause hypoperfusion to the brain n.and it will cause hypoxic injury to the o brain.
