Its not only about the cleaning plates but children should not be forced to do anything, anything by force might not be good.

A new research found cleaning plates may not be good idea as children tend to become overweight and obese because it may gravitate towards sugary foods and snacks

The activities like cleaning their plates as a punishment will force them to overeat and develop distasteful towards nutritious foods
