Answer #1

The Hispanic community in California are more likely vulnerable than the general population to develop diabetes. It has been estimated that 2.5 million, or 10.4 percent of Hispanic and Latino Americans aged 20 and older have diabetes. The specific resources that can be used by the Hispanic community are to maintain a sugar free or low sugar diet, continuously monitor the blood sugar level and take insulin to treat the diabetes. Also the population should include medication taking, physical exercise, self-monitoring, and appropriate use of health care services. The websites and electronic sources that support the proposed interventions include: www.cdc.gov, www.carediebtesjournals.com etc., information on radio also helps in promoting the interventions for diabetes.
