The IEP team determines the assistive technology needs of the child through an assessment process. It is important to consider the child's strength as well as weakness, their likes and dislikes, and what strategies are helpful in interacting wiithnthe child. A child's AT needs will change depending on their environment(school, home, or out in the public at a library or mall). And as the perspectives of family members and teachers, as welk asthe student are taken into consideration IEP team is best suted for handling the scenario.
