1.Enquire about past medical history. If diabetes has been diagnosed or not.
If yes, take information about the medications oral or insulin.
If not, ask about diet, excercise.
2.Nerves — tingling/numbness/cramps? when? where? taking medication for it?
3.Kidney — polydipsia/polyuria/nocturia?
4. Eyes — blurry vision? cataracts?
5. Feet- Edema in lower extremities? Onychomychosis/fungus between toes?
Risk factors that may lead to the diagnosis of Diabetes mellitus are:
Striae
Thyromegaly
Onychomychosis/fungus between toes
Acanthosis nigricans
Edema in lower extremities
