In this case a safety mitten is used. Safety mittens are soft and looks like a boxing gloves. It cover the patient's hands and there by prevent the patient pulling out any essential lines or tubes when they are restless and confused. Mittens may cause damage to the skin,problems with circulation etc. So someone using mittens should check and clean it regularly
