Weight of the child = 41 lbs = 18 kg

Available strength = 100 mg tablets

a. Dose per day =  12 mg/kg/day

=  12 mg/18 kg/day

= 216 mg/ day

Dose per day is 216 mg. It has to given 4 equally divided doses

So, mg per dose = 216 mg/4 = 54mg = 50 mg (rounded value)

The answer is The child receive mg per dose = 50 mg

b. Strength of one tablet availabe is 100 mg

Patient required 50mg/dose

number of tablet per dose = 50mg100 mg/ = 1/2 tablet
