During labor the position of the body, the turning of ferus inside the womb and the umbilical cord should be under consideration.

Electronic fetal monitoring can be used to continually record the Contractin of the uterus and heart beat of the fetus.In low risk pregnancies, the continuous fetal monitoring is unnecessary.
But in the case of Nuchal cord, meconium inside the womb, less heart rate etc should be monitored throughout the labor.
Fetal examination after Labor
The heartbeat and the blood samples should be checked after birth also.To know the abnormalities.
