Regular insulin also called as isophane insulin is a fast acting insulin lasting for 8 hours.onset of action is 30 minutes

NPH is an intermediate acting insulin lasting for 24 hours.onset of action is 90 minutes

Once insulin is opened should be used within a month .So label the date of opening on the bottle.

Withdraw 15 unit of air and instill in regular insulin vial and withdraw ,then take 45 unit of NPH.If it exceeds more never reinstill into vial . A total of 60 units to be administered.
