Answer #1

Prednisone administering:

Prednisone belongs to a family of medications known as corticosteroids and is often used to alleviate inflammation. It is important to slowly reduce the dosage over a period of time, which is often called 'tapering'.

Usually short term prednisone is the highest dose at first, and then is decreased each day until it’s stopped.

Daily taper is 10 mg/day

5 mg every other day

100 mg on Sunday – 15 mg taper = 85 mg

85 mg on Monday – 10 mg taper = 75 mg

75 mg on Tuesday – 15 mg taper = 60 mg

60 mg on Wednesday – 10 mg taper = 50 mg

50 mg on Thursday – 15 mg taper = 35 mg

35 mg on Friday – 10 mg taper = 25 mg

25 mg on Saturday – 15 mg taper = 10 mg

On Saturday Prednisone reach to 10mg

Common prednisone side effects:

Nausea, stomach pain and bloating

Headache, dizziness and sleep problems (insomnia).
