what would a high amount of neutrophils specifically indicate?

We need to explain the clinical significance of several lab results. One of the other lab results already shows a high white blood cell count, which means a likely presence of infection. But there is also lab results specifically for neutrophils. What information is clinically significant about elevated neutrophils in a CBC, since we already know there is a high WBC? Thank you! The lab said the neutrophils were 88 percent, and in previous labs they were 54 percent.
